Just downloaded hi note, it’s genius. Thank you! Haven’t seen an app this excellently put together since Moon Pig started saving my life for sending greeting cards whilst living overseas. I would add ability to give a decent firm handshake to essential life skills. Is there anything worse than a limp one? Maybe a limp one with no zero eye contact 😂
Thank you for the hi note app I too love a proper card but as you say on occasions it can seem a bit over the top like when you just want to say you enjoyed someone’s lovely company for lunch. Watched Code of Silence… loved it - a satisfying ending too which looks as though it promises another series 🤞enjoy.
I hadn't heard of "Code of Silence" - I'll have to watch that! My partner and I have been watching our way through Walter Presents. We've virtually been to Paris, Naples, Bari, somewhere in the French Alps, somewhere in the Dolomites, and a very cold place in the north of Norway (and all with guaranteed captions which will actually be good quality). But "Code of Silence" sounds great - we really liked "Patience" and even better, "Astrid et Raphaëlle", the French programme it's based on. It's refreshing seeing disabled/neurodiverse characters.
The Notes app sounds great, and I'm now wondering what I could do with a small masher!
Ooh brilliant! And yes, she's great! She's obviously met autistic people and gained an understanding. And she portrays the character so well. And I love how her real life mum plays her screen mum.
I have my theory that Raphaëlle has ADHD (having recently been diagnosed myself) but those elements seemed to drop away after the earlier series!
Fabulous! We were just in Bari with Sergeant Fenoglio! Some years ago, I went to a really interesting talk with Walter himself, talking about how he chooses what he “presents”. It was so interesting! The same festival had a talk with the guy who wrote “The Bridge” and the guy who wrote “Hinterland”, talking about bilingual drama. That was fascinating.
Started watching "Code of Silence" last night - it's really good (and how many TV shows have dead main characters?). I love how they show her interpreting what she's picking up from the jumble of possible words which she clarifies. I'm very basic with lip-reading, but it does remind me of how I make sense from what scraps I can hear. And I like the signing too. Nice to see Alison from "Ghosts", albeit without her entourage of spirits! Thank you for the recommendation!
Thank you for another great post, Jessica! As you can see, the mini masher already has a few fans. Cute, absurd, useful - sounds perfect. How dis you find the switch from Kindle to books? For me, it's restful. I use another miniature indispensable item, a small book light. Sounds like you have planned a charming weekend. Enjoy!

Ha! Yes, a good handshake is a must!

Thanks Tessa!
I absolutely need the mini masher.
Hi Lucy, I was just going to write the same note. What a handy item! Happy mashing! - Marian

Love the sound of Walter Presents! Thank you.
We stream it on More4. Lots of fabulous non-British TV!
I love the portrayal of Astrid, I think that the actress has done an amazing job, she’s an absolute delight. Series 5 is on its way too!

I recognise some of those places from Walter Presents! We're currently in Umbria with Signora Volpe...(that's on U TV)
